Obituary for Michelle Yvonne Billingham (Garduno)
Michelle Yvonne Garduno Billingham, passed away in Albuquerque on February 3, 2018 at 37 years of age. She was born on January 28, 1981 in Grants, New Mexico.
Michelle attended St. Teresa Catholic School from K-8th grade where she excelled in Science. She graduated Grants High School in 1999, during her high school career she was active in the dance team, she was a lifeguard at the Paddy Martinez swimming pool, later teaching swimming lessons at the Los Alamitos Heights swimming pool. She was a dance instructor for the Dance All Stars, Grants High School Dance squad and in Albuquerque, the Razzle Dazzle dance squad, the Cinderella Pageant, and coached the West Mesa dance team for 2 years. Michelle had worked at Garduno’s restaurant and Cardinal Heath Care both in Albuquerque. Her proudest title was Mom, she was a devoted mother and homemaker, she loved children. She will be remembered for her love, compassion, care, for always being the life of the party, and being a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She was deeply loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her children; Mariah and Nathan along with their father Brian Billingham. Her parents; Sandra and Ray Garduno. Her sisters; Nichole Garduno (Mark Ramirez) Kimberly Garduno, and Samantha Garduno (Aeron Horton) Her nieces and nephews; Brianna, Daniel, Tiarra, Arianna, KayLee, Andrew, Aubrie, Jordyn, Jalyce and Bristol. Her grandmothers; Martha Tafoya and Marcella Palacio. And numerous other relatives also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Sam Tafoya Jr., Genoveva and Gilbert Garduno, and Lionel Palacio. and her father; Lionel “Butch” Palacio.
On Saturday February 10, 2018, San Rafael Catholic Mission a Memorial Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am, a Memorial Mass will follow, being celebrated by Father Alberto Avella. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the San Rafael cemetery.
Pallbearers include; Christopher Tafoya and Matthew Wert.
Honorary Pallbearers include; Bernadette Tafoya, Jennifer Nieto, Valerie Nieto, Amanda Nieto, Maxine Spidle, Anthony Garduno, Timo Barajas, and Dominic Garduno.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
