Hevila (Martinez) Romero

Hevila Romero, 93, of Farmington, passed away peacefully and joined her heavenly home on the morning of April 10th, 2018. Hevila was born June 24th, 1924 to parents Federico and Matilde Martinez.
In addition to her parents, Federico and Matilde Martinez, Hevila is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Trinidad Romero; son, Jessie Romero; brother, Jose Inocencio Martinez; and sisters, Josie Mitchell, Rosella Garcia, and Onofre Martinez.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Stallings and husband, Terry, of Farmington; her sons, Steve Romero and Joe Romero, both of Farmington; brother, Domingo Sunday Martinez; sister, Eneda Martinez; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She loved all of her family and friends very much and will be greatly missed.
Hevila enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening/ yard work, and sewing. One of her most memorable pleasures, until the very end of her days, was her love of Dr. Pepper. However, she was particular in having her Dr. Pepper from a can and could certainly tell if it came from a bottle, which was simply not the same to her! Hevila had unwavering faith and devoted her life to serving her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and enjoyed reading her Bible daily. Her faith in God, her genuine kindness, and the love she had for her family made her a wonderful role model and she will be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her forever.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 1:00 pm, at The Master's Hand Church of God, 306 N. 7th St., Bloomfield, NM, officiated by Pastors David Velasquez and Ike Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Mike Read, Matthew Read, Pete Otero, and Donald Jacquez. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens Cemetery next to her loving husband and her son, Jessie.
