Linda Sue Carey, 67, of Farmington, NM, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018. She was born November 16, 1950 in Dublin, Texas to T.P. and Mary Lee Johnson. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Stephen Johnson, and granddaughter Tiffanie Jade Carey. She is survived by her husband, George W. Carey, her brother T. Pete Johnson (Dianne) of Burleson, Texas, her daughter Michelle L. Coy (Terry), her son Michael W. Carey (Linda), and grandchildren Darryan, Julian, Chelsea, Aidan, Addyson, Dawson, and Baleigh of Farmington, New Mexico.
Linda grew up in Jal, NM and moved to Bloomfield in her senior year of high school, and graduated in 1969. She loved her children and was extremely proud of everything they had accomplished. She was known to all her grandchildren as Mamaw and loved them with her whole heart. They could always count on her to bring the newest Disney movie. She was a member of the San Juan County Volunteer Fire Department, District 6 (Lee Acres) for over 25 years and loved her fire family. After her children grew up and moved out of the house, the fire department was her life and she took great pride in everything she did there.
A funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St., Farmington, NM. Linda's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., Farmington, NM 505-325-8688.
