Mollie Sarah Flaherty, 82, of Aztec, passed away on August 26, 2018. She was born October 19, 1935 in Ignacio, Colorado to Emilio and Sarah Martinez.
Mollie was a homemaker until her children were all in school and then she managed the cafeteria at Park Avenue Elementary School in Aztec. She loved to cook and was her happiest when she had a houseful of people around her table. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of the St. Joseph's Parish.
Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, numerous brothers and sisters, and two best friends Margaret Anderson and Mary Jane Sandoval.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ardie Lee Flaherty, son Randy Flaherty (Brenda); daughters, Edna Conrad (Scott), Patty Clements (Tony) and Marcy Montoya (Tim); sister, Marcia Martinez (George), brothers, Jose' and Bennie Martinez, eight grandchildren, Michael Fauteaux (Jessica), Sarah Cruz (Alonzo), Jaime Fauteaux (Debbie), Katrina Frohn (Zachary), Devin Flaherty (Cassidy), Tylyn Clements, Delanie and Taed Montoya; and three great-grandchildren, Ariana and Dominic Cruz and Michael James Fauteaux, numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Aztec, officiated by Father David Tate with burial following in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedar Hill. Pallbearers are Michael Fauteaux, Alonzo Cruz, Jaime Fauteaux, Zachary Frohn, Devin Flaherty, and Taed Montoya.
