Nicholas James Juckes of Bloomfield, New Mexico passed from this life on March 22, 2025 in Moscow, Idaho. Nicholas was born on October 12, 2003 in Farmington, New Mexico to Carrie Dawn Maloy and Michael Duane Juckes.
Nicholas graduated from Piedra Vista High School in 2022. He joined the San Juan County volunteer fire department in August 2020 and graduated from the fire academy December 2021. Nick loved his service with the volunteer fire department and deployed on many wildland fires in both New Mexico and Montana after graduation. Nicholas received his EMT certification of completion July 2024.
Nicholas was attending the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, where he was studying Fire Ecology and Management.
Nicholas was well known for his tender heart and caring nature. He had a great love for his family and friends and was always looking for opportunities to serve those around him. Nicholas loved the great outdoors and was happiest when he was hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Nicholas is preceded in death by his grandfather Marlon Maloy.
Nicholas is survived by his parents Carrie (Bradley) Boehm, Michael (Leandra) Juckes. Brother Anthony Juckes, Sister Cambrie Juckes, Grandparents Cheryl Maloy, Mike & Velma Juckes, Stepbrothers Joshua Boehm, Zachary Boehm, and Adrien Sandoval. And many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Service will be held at 11 am, Saturday April 5, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 902 W. Blanco Blvd in Bloomfield, NM. Interment will follow at East Hammond Cemetery.
