Rex Arnold Hitchcock Jr, 76, of Farmington, New Mexico unexpectedly passed away on April 3, 2018, peacefully and surrounded by family.
On May 8, 1941 in Seminole, Oklahoma, Rex Arnold Junior was born to Rex Arnold Hitchcock Sr and Helen Elizabeth Roberts Hitchcock.
Rex graduated from Monahans High School in West Texas in 1959 and attended Odessa College. He began his life with Linda Vessels when they married in 1962. They lived in Monahans and Midland, Texas where he began his career at Sinclair Oil and Gas and in 1969 transferred to Farmington, NM. He and his wife raised their family in Farmington and he retired from Vastar Oil and Gas in 2000. Rex considered Farmington home.
Rex Arnold was active in his children's lives. He enjoyed outdoor activities with his son and coached his daughter's softball teams for many years. Through the years, Rex enjoyed bowling on the Elks league with his wife, Linda where they made and maintained many life-long friendships.
Rex enjoyed bowling, square dancing, golf, camping, boating, fishing, and cruises. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. His greatest passion was photography and his family will enjoy many good and funny memories for years to come thanks to PAPArazzi's quite accomplished photography skills.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Jeffrey David Hitchcock, and granddaughter Shea Lynn Berhost.
Rex is survived by his wife, Linda Vessels Hitchcock, of Farmington, NM. Children Lori and Mike Sanders of Keller, TX; Cindi and Chris Berhost of Katy, TX; Randy and Nicole Hitchcock of Farmington, NM. Grandchildren Tylan Berhost, Farmington, NM; Garrett Sanders, Dallas, TX; Nathan and Bri Sanders, Lewisville, TX; Kyler Berhost, Katy, TX; Dillon Burgess, Las Vegas, NV; Haley Hitchcock of Wichita Falls, TX; Emily Sanders, Keller, TX; Justin Hitchcock, Farmington, NM; Arynn Berhost, Katy, TX; and his great grandsons Oliver Burgess and Michael Keith Sanders who was born on April 5, 20185, two days after Rex passed away.
