Rose Sophia Talamante

Rose Sophia Talamante, 89, a resident of Lumberton, NM, went to be with our Lord on Monday, January 14, 2019.

Mrs. Talamante was born on September 8, 1929. She was born and raised in Lumberton, NM. Rose was a very affectionate and devoted wife and mother, full of unconditional love. Her hobbies included embroidery, making quilts, ranch work, and baking. Rose babysat many children over the years and had a fond love for them. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed hosting company in her home. She loved her children dearly and will be loved and missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo and Matilde Gonzales; sister, Maxine Fresquez; brother, Felipe Gonzales; nephew, Danny Gonzales; son –in- law, Judson Valdez Sr,

Mrs. Talamante is survived by her husband, Eustacio Talamante; her children, Linda Valdez, Kirt Vicenti, Naomi Talamante Vicente, Sulema Martinez, Berdina Montoya; 12 grandkids; 14 great grandkids.

Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 17 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Lumberton. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, December 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m, at the St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the Lumberton Family Plot.

Serving as pallbearers: Judson Valdez Sr., Justin Valdez Jr., Jeremy Valdez, Eugene Gonzales, Leonard Gonzales Sr., Tino Gonzales, Andrew Gonzales, Claude Gallegos, Timothy Toya, Clifford Talamante, Martin Talamante, & Antonio Fresquez.

Honorary Pallbearers names are: Erica Martinez, Marcus Blackbird, Ryliegh Blackbird, Monica Toya, James Johnson, Monsenior Leo Gomez, Jose Gomez Jr., all grandchildren & great grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Anselmo Jacquez, Evelyn Dejesus, Grace and Joe Romero, Ramona Toya, and Keith Velarde. Serving as officiant will be Monsenior Leo Gomez.
