William Donald Don Howe May 11, 1932-November 27, 2018
William Donald Don Howe 86, of Bloomfield, NM passed away on Tuesday November 27, 2018 in Farmington, NM. Don was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on May 11, 1932, to William Nelson Howe and Dorothy Lucille McGraw.
Don only had an 8th grade education, due to his father being killed in WW2, and having to support his family. Don was self-taught in many ways well beyond his years. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949, and served for four years after which he headed to Farmington and found a job cooking at a restaurant and met the love of his life, Glenda, who was a waitress. They were married in 1955. LIttle Don was born in 1956. Don went to work for EPNG, in the welding shop in Farmington in 1957. Then in 1959, here came their daughter, Glendonna, and in 1961, Marty came to round out the family. In 1962, Don transferred to the Aneth plant in Utah and the family stayed there for 5 years, then moved back to Farmington. Six months later, he went to San Juan River plant in Kirtland, NM, where he stayed until he retired in 1987. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening.
Glenda passed away in December 0f 2006, and he live his later years longing to be reunited with his love.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Irene Beevers; parents, William Nelson Howe and Dorothy Lucille McGraw; brothers, Eddie, Raymond, and Jerry; sisters, Sharon and Bonnie.
He is survived by sons Don Jr. and Marty Howe; daughter, Glendonna Valdez; brother, Richard Howe; grandchildren, Jerrod, Jeremy, Shannon, Amberlee, Geneva, Samson, Josh, Jeff, Nicole and Nate; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m., at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral HOme, 103 East Ute Street, in Farmington. Interment will follow and Greenlawn Cemetery, 1605 North Dustin AVe, Farmington.
Officiating will be Ray Howe; pallbearers are, Marty Howe, Don Howe, Jr., Josh Howe, Jeff Howe, Garland Tucker, Dale Tucker and Michael Tucker.
